Hello,

I currently have the first version of the Abit BH6 with a Celeron 300A. I want to upgrade my CPU, but keep the same motherboard. What is the fastest Celeron I can get to work on thie Abit BH6? And what would I need to get it to work (Specific slotkets, etc.)? I don't plan to do any overclocking. Thanks!

My BH6 is a 1.01 version and I'm running a 566 celeron 2 at 850... I wouldn't be suprised if a faster celeron would run on it... You'll have to find somebody who has actually tried a faster celeron on it such as an 800 or a 900 Mhz celeron... :)

You might want to check out this thread about the Powerleap converter and the 1.2G celeron here.

The BH6 is on the list of supported boards...

flashed to the latest bios, your bh6 will run a p3-1000 e(100hz buss)on an abit sloket, with the settings on the sloket set to default(auto)
also it will run any celeron.I have two bh6 mp/bo'sOne has the p3-1000 on it,the other has a celeron 633 overclocked to 950.One board runs the sp bios, the other runs the ss bios. The abit web site will show you which is which.

I have a BH-6 1.0X running on SS bios with a PIII 900 (100 MHz bus) with an abit slotketIII.

It runs very well. I would recommend something with a 100 MHz bus like the Celeron 800 or higher, if you want something really cheap.

Otherewise, you could get a PIII. Just make sure it's the 100 MHz version and not the 133 one.

The powerleap thing sounds neat but a little more expensive.

Good luck.
