I'm trying to upgrade my friend's WIN98SE to Windows 2000 Professional. His system is as follows:
T-Bird 1000, not overclocked
Asus A7V133, with 1004 BIOS
30 Gig HD, hooked up to the Promise ATA100 controller
I downloaded the drivers at here and pressed F6 to specify it in the setup (Win2000 Promise UltraATA100 controller).
I'm getting the following blue screen when going through the install:
*** STOP: 0X0000007B (0XXxxXXxx, etc. etc)
INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE
HELP!!! Is this a problem with the controller? Would a "Clean" format/install be better than upgrading? If it is I'll tell him to do that!
TIA
