Upgrading, what should I do?!

Ok, I'm thinking of upgrading. Right now, I have a Athlon 750@950 w/ a KT133 chipset. I'm debating between two options.

1) Get a nForce motherboard with 2 128meg 2100 DDRs

or

2) Get a KT133A motherboard and a 1ghz Athlon with 233 fsb.

The first question I have is, would I be able to use my current processor with the nforce? And secondly, which upgrade would I see more performance gains in.

Any other better options would be appreciated. Keep in mind that cost is a factor, and that both of the options that I mentioned will cost me about the same price.

Thanks

Check out newegg's refurbished section for great deals with 30 day warranty and free shipping. If you don't plan on overclocking, generic memory will work ok. Your socket a athlon should work fine on the nforce board, but I would go ahead and get an xp. The boxed versions came down in price. I would check newegg daily for the refurbs; If you must use sdram, get the ecs k7s5a for only $52 plus shipping, and get ddram later.

right ... you definitely want to move off the old SDRAM-only chipsets. o1die has the right kind
of suggestion, use a board that uses either SDRAM or DDR, like ECS K7S5A, K7AMA, K7VTA2
(SiS, ALi, VIA DDR chipsets respectively).

First of all ask yourself (and then tell us) what you're trying to achieve ... depending on that, you
might rather want to keep the old CPU and change board and RAM, or vice versa.

Well, I'd like to eventually upgrade to an XP processor. I guess the real concern I had was wether or not my current processor would be able to take advantage of the 266 fsb. Am I corredt in assuming that I should be able to set hte multiplier at about 3.5 and run my current processor at 933 mhz?
