Upgrading to Win XP.....clean install or update?

I usually prefer to do a format and clean install when install a new OS.

But I have to upgrade my office workstation from Win 2000 to Win XP.....and don't have time to reinstall all the apps and restore data.

If I just do an overwrite.......are there any problems with this?

Like you.....I prefer the clean install. I have upgraded several machines with no problem. Sup to you.

If you do not have time then just do an upgrade. I prefer a clean install as well. When this question was asked at the Windows XP launch the whole crowd pretty much said clean install as well.
