Upgrading to SLI

Have a gigabyte 6800GT, can't find another, with nvidas new 80 drivers should be able to get say, an Asus 6800Gt and mix and match. Anyone do this yet, any probs?

Should be ok, just use the 80+ drivers.

I was running same mfg, but different model and bios 7800Gts for awhile and it worked fine.

Here is a review using 7800gtx from 2 different manufacturers.

I can't see why the 6800 series would be any different.

How about instead of spending $260 on a new 6800gt you:

sell the current 6800gt for however much you can get for it - $150 - $200?

Buy a 7800gt for $290 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130247


So SLI 6800gt final cost = $260
7800gt final cost = $290 - $150 = $140

Depending on res and which game, which one will perform better will change, but they're in the same ballpark for performance.
