We have a w2k Server box that is currently running on IDE. There is plans to upgrade it to a SCSI HDD. However is there any way to do that without reloading the whole OS and application and hours of configuration to bring it to the current setup?

I was thinking that I could simply install the SCSI card drivers on the current IDE drive. Then just copy / ghost the contents to the SCSI drive. Then disconnect the IDE and set it to boot up from SCSI from BIOS and it should work???

actually win2k recognizes many scsi adapters, for example my tekram had optimized drivers but for the install it would freeze unless i used the default Symbios ones

Gee it doesn't sound "too" difficult. Since it's the first time I deal with SCSI besides the CDR ^^ I guess even if I stuff up I always have the IDE drive to fall back on!!
