upgrading to newer apollo chipset

how does one upgrade to a newer apollo chipset? Just d/l the latest 4 in 1 driver and run it? Or do i need to uninstall anything first before doing this? The mobo i have is in my sig.

Any help would be usefull as i dont want to break anything when doing this lol

Dude! You don't even have an Apollo chipset, you have the KT266. The Apollo chipset was used on Socket 7 boards, as in for P1's and K6 line CPU's. The 4-in-1's are just software drivers for your chipset, and it usually doesn't hurt to have the latest version installed. If you want to upgrade your chipset though, you'll need to get a whole new motherboard.

if you are going to go new mobo dont go with VIA right now for amd cpus nforce 2 is the best amd solution at this time
