Ahem, felix:
From newegg:
Sempron 3100+ : $100
Celeron D 2.8 : $109
That said;
http://www.anandtech.com/cpuch...oc.aspx?i=2139&p=5
Now, for performance deltas:
Business Winstone: 21.5 v 18.8 = 14.3%
Content Winstone: 29.5 v 24.5 = 20.4%
DivX: 34.4 v 32.9 = 4.55%
Aquamark: 41.8 v 38 = 10%
Gunmetal: 34.3 v 33.5 = 2.38%
Halo: 52.8 v 49.9 = 5.81%
C&C: 40.6 v 31 = 30.9%
UT2k3 fly: 228.3 v 191.5 = 19.2%
UT2k3 bot: 77.4 v 57.7 = 34.1%
WC3: 51.2 v 43.4 = 17.9%
Wolf: 79.1 v 62.1 = 27.3%
Q3A: 387.6 v 271.4 = 42.8%
3DSMax: 231 v 287 = 24.2%
Q3Compile: 17.2 v 22.2 = 29%
Mean of all deltas: 20.2%
Mean of all deltas minus outliers [2.38% on low, 42.8% on high]: 19.8%

Therefore, one can infer, for the same pricepoint, I can get, on average, 20% more performance.
People, like me, want you banned because you refuse to:
a) Read and post benchmarks of Intel processors when you post;
b) Read anything on Anandtech's own benchmarks;
c) Call others "trolls" because they disagree with your own unfounded and baseless statements.

Yes, I'm a troll. I know.

By the way, I feel sorry for you, I really do. Dropping 1K on a CPU for sub-top-tier performance...

If you look about 7 posts up, Felix agreed the he should ban himself ! lol
Edit: BTW, nice on-topic post PsharkJF ! And I agree, why spend 9%more for 20% less performance ?

You know, up to the point where you bought into the whole "attack Felix" bandwagon you were making a good case. All Ive said is that the Celeron is better value than the AMD solution, and I dont need no stinkin benchmarks to know that!

Yeah, you really disproved the hard data above. :roll:

You've got all the "proof" you need from the clear view of your lower intestine evidently.

That is not what you said felix... you said

Celeron D>Ahtlon anything

Which means anything Athlon (XP, 64, FX) is worse than the Celeron D.

And as you see above even if you were comparing Sempron and Celeron D your still wrong!!

C4H,

You should know better than to call anyone a troll. Your picture is in the dictionary next to the word.

And anyone who misunderstands anything I say should ask politely first for clarification before running off half cocked and posting drivel, right markfw900?

No one thinks that the celeron is more capable than the fx52.9 or the Inoopertron. ;) . Nobody. Not even me. I was refering to the sempron - the chip taking the place of the pre-64 athlon.

Hopefully, we can all take a deep breath now and relax. :beer:

Well your post didn't reflect that. Also no one here was trolling except for you.

The fact is Celeron>Athlon anything is a biased statement which you started causing trouble over. If you meant Celeron is better than Sempron than SAY IT!! :) you would also have to back up those claims... people have backed up the fact that the Sempron is better numerous times in this thread and have proven to you that you were wrong. Just accept it and stop posting BS and (ill stop the thread trying to get you a vacation) and we can get back on topic and everyone can enjoy themselves.
