Upgrading the Rig

Today I'm going to bite the bullet and purchase a core 2 duo system. I've done a lot of research on the topic, however memory has me confused. I am going to be getting the E6600 just because its $300 less than the 6700 and I can easily overclock to the E6700 speeds (I assume its the same chip just run at a faster clock speed?). However, my RAM is giving me problems. I'm going to be going with the eVGA SLi board and currently thinking about the OCZ Gold edition PC-6400 DDR2-800 2x1gb. I've heard good things and bad about this ram. When I built my rig I had OCZ Gold Edition pc-4200 DDR2-400 2x512 and it ran fine but I want decent ram with good performace per dollar.
Anyone recommend a good memory for around CDN$289 for my specific Mobo/overclocking needs?
