Hi i'm upgrading soon from a duron 600 oc'ed to 1ghz with an Abit KT7e motherboard. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what I should upgrade to? Or should I upgrade at all and wait for the newer motherboards and cpu's to come out? Thanks.

The Asus P4S533, 512 of PC2700 and the P4 1.6a @ 2.4Gz would be sweet.
Or the Soyo P4S645DX Dragon with tons of features

For a second I thought that said upgrading son. :)

I would personally wait and see what the AMD Hammer processors can do.

The thoroughbred cpus will be out any day now. Check newegg's refurbished section for good prices on customer returns. They have some xp boards that should work fine with a bios upgrade priced from the mid $50's.

Ok, I've got a question.. I'm also thinking of upgrading my machine too. It's a Athlon 1.2GHz Tbird, on a Gigabyte 7DXR mobo, with 256MB of PC2100 ram... and a Creative Labs Annihilator 2 (GeForce2, of course ;P)..

Now, thinking Athlon here guys, what's the best proc when it comes to bang for your buck?? From what I've seen on Pricewatch, the XP 1900, but I want some other opinion(s). Not only that, but what about motherboards. In terms of chipsets, should I go with the SiS 745, or VIA's KT333??

I'm shootin for a $250 upgrade, with PC2700 RAM, and I want to know what u guys think.. Should I go for it, or save a lil more money and go for a graphics upgrade??

and as a side question... anyone have any ideas as to what the debut price range of the Thoroughbreds is going to be? They sound like a mildly interesting upgrade to the Palominos out there now, and I'm just curious..

or.. for the really patient -which isn't me, btw ;) - should I wait 6 more months and upgrade to a ClawHammer (which I'm going to do eventually anyways)?

Thanks for all your help guys.. (yes, i know.. i'm being very optimistic that I'm even going to get a reply to this
