What chipset? The 810/815 series are finicky about ram. Double side and single sided and the number of slots filled. Gets hairy.

Easy to buy something that won't work.

I would think a 733 would work with PC 133. Is there a sticker on the RAM you have or, do you see anything at boot-up telling you what speed the RAM is running at?

I usually go to the Kingston and/or Crucial sites and plug in the motherboard I'm dealing with.

I advise you to read carefully your motherboard manual, and everything you can find about it on the net, because i find out that upgrading ram on an old machine can be a major pain.

I also run a PIII 733, on a DFI CA61 motherbard, a couple of years ago i decided to upgrade the ram so i bought myself some single sided (i knew it would only run single sided memory) 256MB memory.
When i installed the ram it recognized only half the memory, I was like WTF i bought single sided memory so why is this happening.
After some research on the net i found out that my mobo does not recognize 256MB chips unless I flash the bios and for what I could make out of the explaining on the site i had to solder some stuff in the mobo !!!

Well guess 320MB of Ram will have to be enough.

If you're interested, I have (3) 128 MB PC100 DIMMS that I'm no longer using. If you'd like to make me an offer, send me a PM.

The P3-733 runs on a 133MHz FSB, so PC-100 is out.
You'll need PC-133 memory for your upgrade.

Basically... If your MBs chipset is Intel based, you'll need low density RAM. If it's based on a VIA or some other non-Intel chipset, you can get by with high density.

Long story short... Most cheap PC-133 you see being sold by vendors is high density. They may or may not make that clear.
You're safe either way if you by low density RAM.

My advice is to try and buy some low density DIMMs from someone in the For Sale/Trade forum.

If you live in the UK, that may be tougher than ebay
