Upgrading Problem(s)

Hello, everyone!

I'm not a newbie to assembling computers - been doing upgrades and such for over 6 years now, but this one has me stumped for clues.

I've purchased an Abit NF-7 motherboard, Athlon XP-2500 CPU - Barton core (retail box with the heatsink/fan included) and one 512 meg stick of DDR RAM (333 FSB speed to match the CPU.

When hooked up to power from a known good power supply - with the board either installed into the case or outside - I get no signs of activity OTHER than every fan inside the case and on the motherboard coming on (including the video card's fan).

No video output on screen to show the POST or BIOS info, no error beeps from the speaker - nothing. I've checked, rechecked and double-checked all my connections....including taking the heatsink off the CPU and checking the alignment of it, then reinstalling the sink/fan to the CPU.

Your comments/suggestions will be most appreciated. Thanks!
