Upgrading notebook memory

I want to buy a Dell Inspiron 8600c. As far as I know it uses DDR 333 soDimm's.

Can I upgrade the memory with any DDR 333 memory? As I'm in South Africa my options for memory types are rather limited but I know I can get Kingmax.

Would that work properly, I know some notebooks use propriety memory.

the 8600 will accept any ram that is compatible with it (i dont remember the number of pins, perhaps 186). Whether they will all run stable or not, thats another story...

I suggest you use www.crucial.com's memory selector to see what is compatible with the 8600
