upgrading notebook battery

so my laptop's lifetime battery sucks cause it only lasts 2 hours and i need to ujpgrade it to something that would last longer like around 3-5 hours.

current laptop battery is 6 cell lithium ion cell.

i nvr upgraded laptop before and was wondering if anyhone can reccomend me a good battery for laptop thanks!.
 
Check your OEM's batteries. You would do better with a 9 cell. Batteries are OEM and model specific.
 
What laptop do you have? The manufacturer's website should have a list of replacement parts, or you could download the manual and look it up in there. You might try the route of ordering an OEM battery off of ebay.

My wife's 5yo 12-cell laptop battery has gone from lasting 4 hours to a little over one hour. I ordered a new 12-cell OEM battery (by searching for the battery product number) for $37.71 after Bing cashback. The last time I checked, the official Compaq battery was $120+.
