I'm in the process of upgrading computer. Currently I have an GeForce4 Ti 4600. I'm going to replace it, but I'm not sure with what. I was looking at the BFG GeForce FX5700 Ultra ($210), and BFG FX5900 ($235). I want to stay in the low $200 price range. I was also looking at the ATI Radeon 9600XT ($180). Any Advice would be very helpful.

None of those, goto CompUSA PRONTO, they have a made by ATI Radeon 9800 pro for $200 dollars this week

$300 - $70 instant rebate - $30 MiR = $200, this is without a doubt, the BEST deal right now for an incredible card.

One problem with that. The nearest CompUSA is 2hrs from me in Nashville, TN. But then again that is a really good price. I've driven 2hrs before just for the PS2 Network Adapter.:)

Either a 5900 or 9800, forget about the 5700s and 9600s, the slight price difference between them and the higher end parts isn't close to in line with the massive performance rift.

Both the 9600XT and the 5700Ultra are bad deals for those prices.

agreed.....the 9600xt is a waste of time...that radeon 9800 looks fantastic for 200!....i wish we had mail in rebates in england!!!

arent the 5900 non ultras in your price range too?

I just called the Nashville CompUSA store and ordered the Radeon 9800 Pro. They shipped to me for $5. Now I don't have to drive to Nashville.:D

CompUSA will let you "prepay" and then when they get them back in stock(I was told less than a week) you can pick it up.

I was too impatient and made BB pricematch it but they didn't do the full pricematch. I have not given up on getting them to pricematch it further. ;)

BTW, the Radeon 9800Pro completely rocks. It was a nice upgrade for me going from a GF4-ti4400(oc'd to 4600 specs). I can run everything with all the eye candy on and still get great framerates. I was an Nvidia guy until this card. ;)

I expect this card to tide me over for at least a year or two. :)

Yeah, but that's an OEM. When you can get it from a b&m store for about the same price Retail w/ longer warranty, why not? And yeah, newegg does r0x0r.

Finally got the Radeon 9800 Pro from CompUSA yesterday. It went on backorder after I ordered it. It's a great video card. I haven't had a chance to fully push it. As I just built my new PC yesterday and got it up and running. So far I have only played UT2004Demo. But damn it looks so sweet. I built a P4-3.2GHz, 1GB, 36G Raptor, and Radeon 9800 Pro.
