Upgrading my tablet?

I've got a Lenovo x61t tablet. I've already upped the ram to 3GB and am looking to upgrade the CPU. Besides the fact that I don't know if I can even upgrade it yet - there doesn't seem to be a suitable CPU. Every cpu avalible had a higher TDP. I currently have an L7500 (1.6ghz) which is fine, but its pretty slugish for things like compiling (albeit I don't do that much).

Looking at: http://processorfinder.intel.c...tails.aspx?sSpec=SLB3S

The CPU I have is 65nm and the new one is 45nm, you'd think there'd be a decrease in thermal properties, but the fact the clock speed is ramped up accounts for an increase.

Do you think its possible?

Most likly the CPU isn't upgradeable. If it is then you are stuck using the same family as the current CPU. Mainly the problem is any pgrade you get will have to have the same FSB. So the buss speed can't exceed 800Mhz.

But you'll need to open the unit up before you go buying anything.

You may be able to put this one in there but the TDP becomes a real issue.

BIOS update
There are x61 tablets with same 945 chipset that come with penryn CPUs (google x61 tablet penryn if you don't believe me) so there should be no problem if you up date the BIOS.
