Upgrading my PC

hSeems like time is catching up with my rig that is about to turn 1 year old and i wanted to do some upgrades to it 🙂

i currently have a

AthlonXp 2400+
MSI K7N2G mobo
WB 80gb 8mb 7200 rpm hd
Audigy X-Gamer with an Inspire 4.1 system
1gb of PC3200 ram
GeForce Ti4200 128mb

I currently have about 500$ saved up i was wondering what would be the best upgrades i could get with that cash or if i should wait a bit longer b4 doing so.

I'd go for a faster video card and larger hard drive, maybe a new monitor if need be.

sell the 4200 for about $100, add $75 to that and get a 5900

ram and sound are fine

is the CPU overclocked?

i o/ced my 2400+ but after like a week it started giving me some problems in games so i set it back down

You could sell it here on the For Sale/For Trade Forum.

No offense, but you will be lucky to sell card for close to $100. It really is only worth about $75.

I am planning on upgrading from my Ti4200's to one of these.. I just can't bring myself to spend over $200 on a video card ( the most so far has been the $147 for the MSI Ti4200 8x 128 mb card a year ago) Maybe I can get $75 for it, and swing one of these 5900SE's for myself.....

I'd go with the vid card too, I'd go with Radeon 9800xt instead of the Geforce FX 5900, rest of the system looks good.

I would not by a Video card right now the new ones well be out soon wait a little longer you well be happy you did

Sell the 4200 and buy a 9800 Pro. Quite a few available on For Sale/Trade. The rest of system looks fine.
