The i7-2620M is not a normal quad core i7 processor. Instead, for all intents and purposes, it is a very slightly faster i5 that is designated as an i7 for marketing purposes.
The only advantages it has over the i5-2450M is 0.2GHz of clock speed (0.3GHz in Turbo Boost mode) and the onboard cache being bumped from 3MB to 4MB, resulting in the slightly underwhelming bump in those benchmark scores.
I wouldn't bother, as you'll probably never notice the real world performance difference.

Welcome to the forums! Even though Fujitsu is now marketing an AH531 with the Core i7 2620M, it's chipset may be different from your model. Since the i5-2540M and i7-2620M both use the G2 socket, installation won't be a problem. The only potential problem will be verifying whether your i5-2540M uses the same chipset as the i7-2620M. If the chipsets are identical, all you'll need to do is update the BIOS to the same version that Fujitsu is now using in the AH531/i7-2620M, then perform the CPU swap.

Thanks, then upgrading the 4 gb ram to 8 gb is more efficient than upgrading to core i7 , I use this laptop in my final year project. I'm studying mechanical engineering, I use to open more than 10 gb programs at the same time thats why I'm upgrading it.
