i bought one of those refurb gateways on new egg awhile ago it's a DX4380G.

i'd love to stick an fm2+ itx in it while i save up for a proper case/fans etc..

cpu is a amd a6 5400k memory is kingston acr512x64d3u16c11g

motherboard i'm looking at is a ASRock FM2A88X.

It's just a generic micro-ATX box, innit?

What do you want to put in there? Might be simpler just to keep the FM2 board that's in there and upgrade to an appropriate A8 of A10 if you can. (Depending on CPU support.)

i wanna get it ready for for a kaveri so it's a bit more future proof .

Most likely, if you replace the motherboard, you'll need a new OS OEM's (like Gateway, dell etc) have their OS tied to the motherboard, & a new one will 'deactivate' the current OS.
