Upgrading my CPU

Hello, I am planning to upgrade my cpu, videocard, and motherboard here in about a month and a half. I was wondering what do you guys recommend. I will have a budget of about 700$ maybe a little more. What I have been looking at is a amd 3700+ 90nm 289$ and a XFX 7800GT 399$ as for the motherboard i dont know yet what i want thinking DFI NF4 infinity. I also am looking at watercooling for processor. I plan on overclocking a little. The reason for the 3700+ is i am a heavy gamer and dont want a DC processor because they do not run well with games. Anything else i need to do i will do on a different system. I might drop the 7800 in favor of a single 6800 GT if the prices dont drop before then. This will be in a month and a half so i also expect a small price drop before then

Try the retail boxed heatsink before using watercooling. Your budget won't permit it. The cheaper water cooled units aren't worth the money.

I agree that cheap water cooling systems are not worth it. Just get something like Zalman or Silverstone. Careful on the installation though 🙂.

For a little bit more you can get a MSI Neo-4 Platinum. You could also go epox but that uses nf3. Alternatively, you could take up newegg/evga's offer of the free SLI mobo with the evga card.

You could also change your CPU for a 3000+ venice. I hear those OC very well from the people who own them. Alternatively, you could pay a little bit more money and get a x2 3800.
