Here is my current set up, I want to buy a new video card but my motherboard is lacking so I think I should probably get a new motherboard at the same time as getting a new video card.

Mobo: Asus M2N-MX SE
CPU: Amd athlon 64 x2 6000+
GPU: Geforce 7600GT
HD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 160GB
RAM: 2gigs DDR2 PC-5300 ram, 2 1gig sticks(for some reason CPUZ shows my second stick as PC-4300. Don't know why this is and I am pretty sure it is PC-5300)

I would like it if I could upgrade the mobo without having to buy new ram but if I have to I will.

The video card I plan on updating is a 9800GT or something similar in the $150 range(CAD)

Will be buying all parts from ncix.com not newegg as I am in Canada.

What exactly is "lacking" about your motherboard? It has an x16 PCIe slot already...you can use all the way up to a GTX 280 in there if you like (overkill for the rest of your system, of course, but you could).

Well I heard about having video card problems due to the motherboard having low bus speeds, I have been having problems with my computer where playing computer intensive games like team fortress 2 and half life 2 where I get big spikes where my game hangs for a few seconds. I fixed the issue by buying a new case with better cooling, but I have no clue how my video card would be overheating since before I upgraded my motherboard I was using the same video card and I never had this issue. So its either with my mobo or my cpu, and I doubt its my CPU.

That is the only reason I would upgrade my mobo, if bus speeds or something isn't a problem then I will just upgrade my video card.
