Upgrading Mobo/CPU

Western Digital Raptor WD360GD 36.7GB 10000RPM 8M Cache Serial ATA150

All-In-Wonder X800 XT 100-714200 All-In-Wonder Radeon X800XT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 VIVO AGP 4X/8X Video Card - Retai

Other than these 2 items, I need a motherboard that has AGP and Socket 939. Im not to sure on which brand I should get. Also, what A64 CPU would you recommend that is reasonable? I really only want to spend $150-200 on the CPU.

Also, do you think it is a good idea to upgrade to such an expensive card considering it is AGP; or is PCI-e the way to go? The biggest problem I am facing with PCI-e is money and I don't have enough money to upgrade my mobo/cpu and a new video card all at the same time.

This is what I have: MSI K8N Neo2 PLATINUM
Others seem to like this board.

I would also suggest this CPU: AMD A64 3000+ 90nm 939pin
The HyperX RAM will help you in overclocking, but the multi. is only 9x. The 3200+ is about $50 more, and has a 10x multi. The 3500+ 90nm is $60 beyond that.

RAM within stock specs and overclocked CPU:
3000+ 9x217= 1.953ghz for $150
3200+ 10x217=2.166ghz for $200
3500+ 11x217=2.383ghz for $260

I'd go with a 3200+ or even a 3500+

no reason to switch to PCI-E if he's already got a very nice AGP card...

venice would be a good choice for CPU
