upgrading memory in i700m

i am adding a gig of ram to my new 700m and was wondering if i should worry about what brand i buy. from newegg this is what i have been looking at, i was thinking about getting the mushkin (i think they might be sold out right now) should it really matter for my laptop, or will they all pretty much work the same. any recomindations welcome.

I just got in on that 700m deal, too. I'm holding off on buying more RAM for now (waiting for a really sweet deal), but I did see a deal on Outpost.com for 1GB of Kingston for $100 AR.

Be careful what SODIMM you buy. Some makers do not make theirs physically compatible with the Dell SODIMM slot. I got burned on this (can't remember the maker, but it was generic).

If you go with a vendor that sells Kingston SODIMMs; they are pretty much guaranteed to work. I did that and now I have 1.25 GB on my Inspiron 700m. It definitely does make a difference.

WTH are you talking about? I've have upgraded at least a dozen Dell laptops in the past year and I've never had an issue with Dell having non-standard memory. If you got the wrong type of memory (ie PC133 SODIMM vs DDR PC2100 SODIMM) then you could have an issue.

I've got one (512MB stick) in my 700m. Works great.

do you think it is worth me upgrading to 1.25 gb of memory (1 gig + 256mb) or should i just do 768 mb (512mb+256mb) of memory?
i am just debating on whether or not it is really worth it to spend the money on a gig stick and if i will really see the improvments or even ever need that much memory. (i am not a hardcore photoshopper or programmer)
