I am doing a hardware upgrade for a friend of mine who is running Windows 98.
Basically we changed the motherboard from a socket 370 to a MSI socket 478. As well, we changed the proccessor from a Celeron 500 mhz to a Celeron 1.7 ghz.
Everything else stayed the same. When I connected everything and booted Windows 98, I got the blue screen of death.
Normally, when I personally do upgrades like these, I like to have a fresh installation.
My friend desires to keep his current configuration.
Is there a way I can fix this installation? Reinstalling Windows 98 did not help.
