Upgrading hard drives

right now i have a maxtor 60gig and a wd 120gig dive and both are near capacity.
i'm thinking of buying 2 250 or 300gig drives. i'm looking at the maxtor diamondmax10's right now that have 16mb cache and ncq. are those drive alright? i want to raid the dives in raid 0. if i do this can i later partition the drives into a os/program drive and a media drive? also later on down the line i want to pick up two more drives and put them in a raid 0+1 array can i do so without formatting? at this point in time i do not have a sata mb, i plan on using these drive when i upgrade my computer in about 6 months. so i was looking at the
PROMISE FastTrak TX2300 PCI SATA 2-Port Controllers Card. it supporsts raid and ncq. any other options or is that a good card?

I can't really help with the RAID side of things, as I've never really found a need, but the Drive you mention is nice.

I've had several Maxtor drives and have so far had good luck with them. In fact, I'm still running a 6.8 Gig Maxtor in one of my Systems that I bought back in 98 🙂

Yea i've read different things, some people love then some have had many fail. i've had one for about 4 years now and hasnt failed
