Current specs.

i5-2500k
2 x Gigabyte GTX-560 1 GB
Gigabyte GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3
4 x 4GB (16 GB) Memory DDR3 - CL9

I currently only play BF3 at 1980 x 1080. I find that even with the SLI setup I cant run it on ULTRA and every once and while the frams slow down a bit.

I was considering selling my GTX 560's and upgrading to 2 x GeForce GTX 660 OC 2GB PCI-E.

Do you think the upgrade would be worth it to last another 1-2 years? I'd like it to be able to run the next release of Battlefield, but who knows what those requirements will be with it being so far out.

I was also considering selling my i5 and sticking an i7-3770k in here as well.

Get a a HD 7970 GHz Edition instead as a single powerful card is always better

Edit: Don't get a i7 just wait for haswell

You lucky SOB! I'm saving up for 2 eVGA GTX 660 2GB. A GTX 560 1GB is the same as a GTX 460 1GB but with higher clocks (810 versus 675). A GTX 660 2GB is about 70% faster than a GTX 460 1GB so you're looking at about a 58.3% improvement over your GTX 560 1GB.

Go for it!

P.S. Keep your i5 2500K and overclock it to 4.5GHz. No GTX 660 2GB SLI is going to max out that CPU.

660 sli .... hm .... you will get worse minmum fps then on 680 but better average and max .... so i suggest you to buy gtx 670 for BF3 .... you will get like 50-60 on huge maps with some drops .... or you aim for constant 60 fps ?
