Yikes!

We NEED server 03 on here for some continuous backup features of our backup solution to work with exchange.

I'm thinking it might be easier on myself to demote this server and just make another W2K server a DC. Instead of trying to have a mixed domain.

Also, will exchange 2000 run ok on server 2003?

Exchange 2000 won't install on Server 2003. The recommended technique is to first upgrade to Exchange 2003, and THEN upgrade the server to Server 2003.

Exchange 2000 is a very limited-scope product. It'll only run on ONE operating system: Server 2000. Exchange 2003 will run on both Server 2000 and Server 2003.

If you have less than 75 computers or clients, did you consider doing an upgrade to SBS 2003? You'd get both your Server 2003 and your Exchange 2003 upgrade in one package, not to mention the remote access, backup, and monitoring features of SBS 2003.

If you have the RAM, throw VMware Server on the box and run the OS that way.

I wasn't aware you could upgrade to SBS from Win2K standard, but I've seen stranger things.
