Upgrading from GTX 670 SLI, is the 1070 worth it?

Hi, just looking for some feedback. I saw this on sale today, the cheapest 1070 yet I’ve seen in CAD. I’m upgrading from EVGA 670 FTW SLI; would be looking to play Doom, DE: Mankind Divided, Battlefield 1 and I currently still play SW: Battlefront and SC2. I’m wondering if I should get the 1070 now or if it’s worth it to wait for Vega 10 next year? The rest of my config is i7-4790K, 16GB DDR3-1866 and a Dell U2713HM (1440p 60Hz). Thanks.

Or you could wait for navi in 2020?

There is no point on waiting forever, just get an gtx1070 which is more then enough for 1440p at 60hz..

A 1070 is around 3.5x faster than a single 670. So it's a no brainer, and plus you get rid of SLI issues too.

He can regret it after vega launch 3 months later with 30% more performance than 1070 and same price. He should wait for vega and then buy better card.
Nv will probably refresh GTX1070 with much faster and cheaper 1170/2070 anyway after vega launch.

I had a 680 SLI setup before I went with a single 980Ti... No regrets. If I had the 4GB variants I may have held on to them a while longer, but 2GB was a real show stopper, especially once I upgraded from a 1200p to a 1440p gsync monitor.

Come to think of it, i'm not sure how much longer I'd have hung on to them even if they were 4GB cards, seeing how many games today either don't work with SLI at all, work poorly or have no support for it until several weeks after release.

I had 670 SLI's to and went to a single 1070, youll get about 35% better performance when SLI is working flawlessly, and 2.5x the performance when you cant use SLI.

I had those exact same 670's. I upgraded to 980ti's which are very similar to 1070's in performance. A single 1070 will not only perform better than both of your cards combined, but it will open doors that you didn't have access to before, such as higher resolutions, texture quality and other Vram related stuff. I seriously doubt you'll regret a 1070. I'd go for it. It will be exciting for you and you'll love it.
There will be faster things coming, but it may take several months for the launch of those products and then even longer maybe for availability. Then even longer for prices to stop inflating due to low volume. All that crap can take forever to wait through. Just grab a 1070 and play bad ass games right now.
