Upgrading from catalyst 3.4, big difference?

It has obviously been a while since I've updated my drivers. I am not a hard core gamer but I do enjoy playing some BF1942 and such. I took a look and released that ATI is up to 4.7. I can't believe there have been that many changes. Should I expect a decent performance increase? More importantly, how about a big compatability problem?

I have used many of the Cats along the way and they never give me any problems.... what are your system specs? more importantly video card?
performance increase might not be anything hugely noticeable, but optimizations are usually put in place, so I'd suggest giving them a try. yours are fairly outdated and some games won't even run on the older drivers. (Call of Duty was my first experience with that)

give the new ones a try!

It depends on your graphics card. I'm really enjoying the 4.7's on my R9700PRO because of the TAA feature; it's awesome. You will see a nice performance boost across the board too.

I haven't run into any compatibility issues as of yet.

You guys are right, specs would be nice. I have a radeon 9700 regular, in a 2.8Ghz, 1GB ram dell 4550. I did read after my post that the problems I have been having with BF:V are because of the older drivers. Perhaps these will fix them.

I think it is always a good idea to get the the latest drivers. I agree with sickbeast on the TAA.

No problems here with 4.7s which are excellent IMHO,yes it`s worth the upgrade from 3.4s to 4.7s just on the many bug fixes alone, don`t forget for the cleanest install use Driver Cleaner 3.2 to ensure all your old drivers have been removed, link for Driver Cleaner.
