When running Prime95 torture test,

(all readings from the Epox motherboard)

Case temperature: 35C
CPU Full Load: 53C

Are these temperatures OK? Will a SP-97 cool much better, let's say 5C lower with the same fan?

I would check out a water cooler kit from globalwin for about $70 shipped. It's available at ewiz.com. I don't think you'll see much difference with the thermalright over your present heatsink.
