Upgrading from a 19" monitor

I've had my eyes on a Hanns·G HG-281DPB Black 28" 3ms Widescreen LCD HDMI Monitor 500 cd/m2 800:1 Built in Speakers - montior on newegg.

It's the same price that you would pay for a 23" monitor. Any opinions on going with something this large?

 
well keep in mind that if you are gaming, you will need a gpu that will be able to support the 1920x1200 resolution, but then again thats the same resolution as on a 24", so you might see a better picture with a 24" like the dell 2407wfp

but the Hanns-G seems to be getting good reviews on newegg

and it doesnt look like it has DVI input, can anyone confirm that? because on newegg it says DVI ------- NO
or does that just mean it doesnt come with the cable?
 
It's a TN given the 160/160 viewing angle spec. For a TN that large, you would need to sit quite some distance away from it or the viewing angles would become a problem.
 
I thought a 30 incher would be cool...but honestly I find myself leaning way back from my desk all the time...It's just too damn large. I think a 24-26 is optimal for gaming and regular use.

i've got to agree with you there. For real computer use much above 24" gets uncomfortable. Movies or something sure a big screen is nice but if you like sitting at a normal computer desk and view webpages/text alot the larger screens are a bit of a pain.
 
So what recommendations do you have for a 22"/23"/24" range monitor. Most people on here prefer Dell or the Samsung.
Also, how do I know if i can watch hd movies on it?
 
the 24" Soyo for 299/399 in hot deals is a real steal. It is a beautiful screen.
