Upgrading fence advice

The current fence I have is about 10 years old, a handful of warped boards needing replaced as well. I'm getting rid of the portable building on the left.
With that said I want to replace the dated fence with an 8ft. tall privacy fence. The portable building provides all the privacy I need but will be gone soon.

My neighbors are very nice people on both sides fortunately so I don't see them having any issues with it but then again, I've never dabbled in building fences or having them installed. I'm unsure about if my town requires signature from them but am googling those answers.

I suppose I'm looking for any one with experience in upgrading/modifying a fence that you also share with your neighbor(s)? How did it go and what is it a pain in the ass? Here's a an aerial shot of the fence I would be replacing:

I remember that thread! I searched for "fence" and it came back with 3 threads. Thanks for the link

Great dane stays in there quite a bit. I would never install a second building like the previous owners did but when the GD has bad gas, it's pretty handy.

yeah i really like the 8' fence we put in. after the initial shock of how tall it looked, it feels "normal" now and really gives a lot of privacy to our backyard. everyone that has been in our backyard loves it. the last group of people we had over we grilled and hung out in the backyard at night and our friends commented on how it felt like they were at a private resort lol.
