UPGRADING CPU HEATSINK

Exactly what the title says. I need an in depth guide to removing the heatsink and the thermal grease. I don't want to mess up my CPU, so I must be careful. I just want to replace the heatsink since the OEM heatsink is not sufficient.

thanks

What type of CPU you got? If it's AthlonXP or Duron, run this video in reverse: link.

and here's the guide where that came from: link

and another one for ya: video clip #2, cleaning the CPU with household rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alchohol) and applying thermal paste.

If it's a Pentium4, try this page, one of the pics links to a video clip showing the latch-down procedure.
