upgrading cpu for laptop

anyone knows if this is possible? i have a 1.6 dothan (i think) and would like to stick a 2.0 in there...the cpu isnt soldered on is it? i can open just open it up and remove it and replace it?
 
The CPU could be hard-wired in yes.

There are also a lot of Notebooks that have their BIOS's unfixable which means they can't be manipulated to function or perform with a higher class CPU. Consequently , you would need a whole new lap top motherboard.

You will have to ask the manufacturer of the lap top listing your specific type of lap top with the manufacturing serial number which is located underneith the lap top.
