Im going to be upgrading the majority of my system, Mobo, cpu, memory, hard drive, ps.

What i want to do is keep the hard drive i have now and run it with the new one, using the new one for installs and the old for just the OS.

Now for my questions, do i HAVE to reformate the old hard drive when upgrading, id like to keep it as is without doing that. Being as i dont have the 98 disk and this is an xp upgrade im running(requires the 98 disk)?
Is XP going to lock me out once it relizes that the majority of my system changed once i get passed the POST and actually boot into windows?

If it does boot, you will have to re-activate.

If it doesn't boot, you can do a repair from the XP cd. Then you will have to re-activate.
