2GB made all of the difference in the world. I notice an overall upgrade to the "snappiness" of my system, even though I can't get as good an overclock with my new ram. I do quite a bit of gaming on this machine - as well as some light multi tasking. Totally worth the 150 I paid for the new sticks.

I'm going to pick up Supreme Commander this week - so we'll see where that takes us.

I have the same question. I have socket 939 with 1gb ddr1 ram and a single core cpu (a64 3500+). probably my next upgrade would be a motherboard upgrade cause i can go for ddr2 memory and am2/3 sockets.

when it comes to this generation of hard ware (DDRII generation) your money will be better spent on a C2D system. Now by better spent i mean best bang for the dollar (with or without overclocking). However, there is a new AM2 chip based on the Brisbane core here is a link:

so now if money is real tight, then AM2 might be a viable option but if you can afford another 70 bones then this is your chip:

or spend a little more for the 6300 for the faster FSB. Isn't competition grand!
