Upgrading a Dimension 8300?

Does anyone know what the fastest processor possible for this Dell model is? My girlfriend had to reformat her hard drive and I figured as long as I was cleaning it, I might be able to upgrade the processor for cheap given it's an older generation...

I think you can use up to a Pentium 4 3.06 (Socket 478) processor in it, but you'd have to double check on that. Check out Dell's Community Forum - a lot of posts there about what people are able to upgrade with.

Either way, I don't think you'd see much of a difference in such a small upgrade.
