yes, you need a heatsink unless you want your computer to fry. ;) the heatsink i pointed out is quite good although its cheap. i overclocked my brothers athlon 1800 by almost 700 Mhz with it. i highly recommend it.

EDIT: yeah, look at mechbons installation guide for more information on how to assemble this.

well keep in mind the case i pointed out has an awesome power supply, and free shipping. shipping alone is usually 15-20 bucks. and if you buy a case with a window for like 50 bucks, you gotta pay shipping so right there you are at the price of the antec, but you get a piece of crap power supply instead of a nice one. and i always say, the power supply is the most important part of a computer....

Phil, this is the best bang for the buck out there right now. It's the same one nick said to get except it's the 35watter. That means it runs cooler at the same speed because it needs less voltage. These overclock on average to what the mobile 2600 does(the second link you posted)

or maybe this:

(better price on the second one)

id stick to the athlon mobile 2400 since you are on a budget. its the best deal IMO. i got one to 2.45Ghz with the motherboard i suggested to you.

well you can scale those speakers back to a quality 2.1 if you want. i only added a 6.1 sound in because thats what you had originally so i assumed you wanted a lot of speakers.
