Upgraded my wired networking drivers - now something strange happens

Updated my intel wired networking card in my dell vostro to the latest version. Now when my computer goes to sleep, my 'connection' disconnects and it shows my cable is unplugged, and I have to reboot to get it back. I've checked everywhere. . . what am I missing to change.

roll back to prior drivers? was there something about the prior drivers that wasn't right, that prompted you to upgrade?

No. I just hadn't upgraded any drivers at all for a while, figured it was time. Silly me.
