No, Why would I want some car I have to just get rid of to prove a point, watch the episode and see how easy it is.

because TV is reality.

obviously if it so easy, do it, then sell the car for a profit, duh

The reason it was so easy to do was that it didn't make financial sense to repair it enough to pass inspection.

That said, wasn't it a 760? Pretty damned different from an 850.

Something tells me that having the cameras from an internationally renowned TV show make things happen a little differently.

Jeremy's friend bought the car, christ does no one watch Top Gear here.

ill donate $50 to a pool. If we get enough supporters and raise that amount of cash, then you have to buy one the next day... or ban.

If the car is worth £1 how am I making a profit?

even if its just worth 1 GBP, then resell it and be out nothing but prove how smart you are

but you cant, which is why you are baulking at it.

all talk.

I bought a car for a 100 dollars once(85 nissan 200sx turbo) that needed a brake bleed and some vacumn lines replaced, sold it for 700 bucks.

just because I did it once, doesnt mean I can do it again(wish I could! loved that car, shouldnt have sold it)

1) I could do it
2) By buying the car I would have to pay road tax (a minimum of £65 max £470)
3) I'd have to buy petrol
4) I'd have to buy insurance for at least 24 hours, about £20
5) I'd have to sell it, no body want's to buy it which is why it is £1
6) It would have to pass an MOT, if all is working on the car that would cost £150, if something isn't working I'd have to pay for that to get it working.

So to sum up, To buy the car for £1 is easy, to drive it on the road would cost a minimum of £235

I'm not spending £236 to prove a point on this forum.

so obviously the OP's car is worth atleast 235 GBP because his is registered, titled, and on the road

so its NOT worth 1 GBP.

thanks for playing

It's also not worth £2,125

Thanks for playing.

Also the value of the car isn't in the insurance etc, it's the car itself.

but you agreed its worth more than 1 GBP, so there that, but still trolling the value of his car

why dont you GTFO since all you do in here is argue about arbitrary things?

I imagine it is, it's a different model from the one in Top Gear (though close) I'm just surprised how much the OP spent when Top Gear got a similar car for £1, which wouldn't be difficult to replicate.

Love it.
I would so kill for an R wagon. They are just awesome cars, I absolutely love 850's.
I tried to find a T5R or an 850R for a while before I gave up on cars that were ridiculously overpriced with high miles and bought a regular sensible car. Sometimes I hate myself for it though, don't worry.

Nice 850! I'd really love to find one in good condition - grew up with a Volvo man (dad - 240, 740, 940).
