i always figure the answer is yes but do i need to and will i see an upgrade.

i picked up and upgraded to 9800gt and 700 psu for a $100. so now im running sli.

the only game i really play is bad co 2 which runs fine. if i upgraded would i see a difference? i was thinking 5850 or equivalent. my monitor is a viewsonic 22inch crt.

all opinions welcome

You can take a look at this comparison: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Prod...02.99.115.118.128.125.121.126.123.122.124.127

It is a single 8800GT compared to a 5850. If you take the 8800GT score and multiply it by 1.8 you should have the rough SLI score for your cards. So you will see anywhere from a 10% increase to over a 40% increase depending on the game.

If you already have an SLI capable motherboard, I would consider picking up a 460 1GB model right now if you are not concerned about eyefinity or other ATI products. At least price/performance it is in a sweet spot right now relative to the 5850 and you should be able to pick up another 460 in a year or so for very cheap!

you just said that it runs "fine". try cranking all settings to max. see what it looks like, if you like it and can run those settings then keep your current card.

If it's the only game you're playing and it runs "fine" then I don't see the need to upgrade.

+1

I always think of upgrading but really I just play CS:S and Starcraft 2 1v1. @ 1080p, no need to upgrade I get 60fps solid in both.
