Corvettes are, in the base trims, typically a dime a dozen. They make between 10 and 35k a year typically. Usually, the first years of a new redesign are heavily manufactured (30k+ per year), and then demand tapers off towards the end (closer to 10k).
The Z06s and ZR-1s are by no means common like the base vehicle, but a corvette isn't really a rare car.
Then again, when you buy a car to drive, what's rarity got to do with it? Maybe if all you care about is image, but I don't buy cars for other people to look at. I buy what's fun to drive.
