I have 2 EVGA GTX 670 FTWs in SLI in rig below and they are FAST eventhough 2 Gigs Vram. I run every game at 2560 x 1440

Me too, but with rumors circulating about new AMD cards in a few months, you might catch a few deals on cards people will be selling on the forums as they upgrade. So if you absolutely feel that you need more vram, it's better to wait it out either way.

I'd wait on upgrading until you know you need to, or at least until you can see a noticeable improvement.

Skyrim with mods is the only game you have to be a little worried about. Even 6GB cards can be pushed too far with mods. You do not need to use all those memory hungry mods. You simply have to pick your mods wisely and you won't have an issue.

yea i'm gonna wait. Blackened i believe u, for 99% of games i'm sure 2GB is fine @ 1440p, problem is my favorite game hands down is Skyrim with mods (just bought it 2 weeks ago and i've already played 60 hours on it!!!! and that's without the expansions). I imagine i'll get bored of it after a few weeks, but not any time soon.:p Anyways let me wait for the U2711 to arrive first.:)

Well, you could still play Skyrim on 1080p on the 1440p monitor... :D

I would get the EVGA 770 SC w/ACX 2GB ( @ $420.) or, the Gigabyte 770 w/ 4GB (@ $460.)

I guess I'll be the first to mention this... I don't feel your current Corsair power supply (520) will handle what vid card you may get... I would get the Corsair HX850 PS as well....

well this PSU was one of the first enthusiast PSUs out (way back in 2006), 54A on the 12v lines is pretty hefty. 520wts was a very conservative estimate by Corsair standards.;)

anyways not sure if u read the first post, but i only want to upgrade for the VRAM. going to a GTX 770 2gb wouldn't do anything for me with my GTX 670 2gb.

I finally received my U2711 monitor, i'll give it a go tomorrow and see how everything pans out.:)

at 1440p it wasn't the vram that held me back...it was the sheer lack of grunt a single 670 offered me. That's why I went SLI. You may feel differently though.
