For gaming i use a "old " Alienware Aurora ALX R4.

- 16g gb corsair 1600 ddr3
- 2 X 7970ghz crossfire
- 2 x 1tb hd

- Monitor: Alienware OptX aw2310 -
- Keyboard : Alienware TactX Keyboard -
- Mouse: Alienware TactX Mouse

it s a quite old pc, and i think it s time to upgrade something, but dunno what.

first of all i think it s time to buy a ssd, but small ssd looks cheap and i was waiting for a big samsung evo at low price

An SSD is probably a good pick up, but the real question is: what is the computer not doing that you wish it would do? Once you know that, it's much easier to figure out which part will help you meet your goal.

atm my gaming pc is ok, but it s old and i was asking if u think it s time to change something.

the new nvidia gtx 970 980 are super gpus and i have nvidia 3d kit that cant use with amd cards, but the performance of my old gpus are still good at 1080p.

do u think it s better wait for 1tb ssd price drop ? or buy a small ssd now ? and about the gpus ?

Just a ssd.and why waiting for the 1tb to go down.just get a fair size and use your other one for picture video and also programs.

i would prefer to drop the hds at all and use only ssd as internal drive in the future, i only play with my alienware pcs, and i dont need a lot of space.

so u think only ssd ? the old 7970ghz are still ok ?

Clean dust out of components = less than $10 for canned air
Clean CPU, GPUs & reapply good quality TIM = $12 for Tuniq TX-4
OC the CPU = free
Update drivers = free
SSD = $361 for Mushkin 1TB

Basically this. Though you can buy a 256/480 GB SSD just for windows and a few games to go the cheap route.

Tnx, i will change the thermal paste, but temps are low and my cpu con reach up to 5ghz. I use it at default (4ghz) because in gaming atm seems the same. I can reach up to 4.8 ghz without overvolt

Here the cheaper ssd are the samsung evo, good and cheap
