Thinking of up grading my old computer Abit KT7A +Athlon T/Bird 1GHz@1.4GHZ

Looking at these two boards Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe and Abit NF7-S v2
The Asus seems to have more extras, Gigabit LAN and Wi-Fi and Dual Lan.

If I put say a 2500+ Barton in any of these boards ( with the right ram) would it overclock to 3200+speed
Also would I notice any difference in speed over my AthlonT/Bird 1.4GHz?

Far as I can gather from various posts round here, the NF7-S (aviod the AN7 for overclocking) overclocks better than the A7N8X-E Deluxe, but either might be fine taking the 2500+ Barton up to 3200+ speeds - aslong as you get a good stepping or whatever of he CPU so it will do it OK. Be sure to get some decent RAM, DDR400/PC3200 or better.

Im considering between the two myself, but I was more interested in the Qfan feature and passive northbridge heatsink of the Asus vs. the cheaper and better overclocking NF7-S.

As for noticing speed differences... Probably. If you play games or video edit or whatever then I'd say worthwhile, for web browsing and Word etc then probably not (or at least not to the extent of being worthwhile buying new mobo, cpu and ram for).
