Upgrade time! Anyone think the S3 will drop below $50 before Christmas?

After all the drama with Verizon, lil rudeguy made me keep them. Turns out no other carrier gets signal in his school.

So now my 2 years are almost up and I'm due for an upgrade. I'm thinking the S3 or the Galaxy Note. The Gnote is still way overpriced and the S3's are going for $150 on upgrade. I'm cheap and that seems a bit pricey.

Anyone know of a better price? Think they will drop before Christmas?

$50 at Best Buy for Black Friday.

Well, AT&T and Sprint for sure. Need to recheck Verizon.

$0.96 at Sams Club for black Friday if you are a member. Afaik it was for all carriers.

The real issue for me is get the basically free S3 now even though it is old or get a Nexus 4 for a much higher price.

Even for renewal?

Also, no LG phones for me. Ever

I assume so, the add doesn't mention new customers only and they had the SGS2 for the same price last year and I picked it up on a renewal without a problem.

I know what you mean about Lg, not to mention the fact that I hate to give up having a Super AMOLED screen after all this time. Plus as much as I want the Note 2 it's hard to argue that it is $300 better than the S3.

awesome. Thanks!

I have a history in selling cell phones. I have never had as many problems as we did with *all* LG models I've ever sold. Much higher failure that than even the dreaded Razr.

Think the Sam's Club deal will be online? I really hate dealing with the Black Friday mongrels.

I would rather pay full price than go do ANY store on that day.

If it won't be $50 before Christmas I'm sure it will be around that shortly after.

Walmart has a $100 giftcard available with Android phone purchases between Nov. 23 and Dec. 1. The S3 is $129 Nov. 23 - Nov. 25, so if you do shop at Walmart you can get the S3 for $29 plus taxes, activation, etc. and use the $100 GC for whatever you might normally buy from Walmart.

It's in store only but at least the Sams club here was much less chaotic than all of the other stores on black Friday. The line was relatively short and they even served coffee.

Where are you seeing the S3 for $0.96? All I see is the The Galaxy S2 for $0.96

oh wow.

my daughter wants a new phone. i might get this

The ad in my paper (Mpls Star & Tribune) for T-Mobile today says all T-Mobile Samsung Galaxys are $0.00 with new contracts on 11/16 and 11/17............

so then I have a brainstorm....

I could get 2 iphone 5's from BB for $200 each. Sell them on CL for $500-$700 each and my 2 Droid Charges for $100 each.

A $400 investment could lead to $1200 profit.

Thoughts?

ETF is $350 per phone, plus you need to pay at least 1 month of service otherwise they ask you to return the phone back (or they charge you the full unsubsidized price which for Apple is $100 more than the ETF). Sorry, no easy profit for you.

I wouldn't be cancelling the contract, just selling the phones.

I'd use the profit to buy a couple S3's
