Currently have the following in 1 PC:

1. Abit IP35Pro MB
2. 4GB Ram- Not sure of the brand
3. Intel E6850 @ 3ghz core 2 Duo
4. Video Card- 256 MB

I am looking for more speed & overall processing power while running multiple app's. Any suggestions on what I can upgrade to make this more of a beast? I'm running Xp PRO if that matters.

First of all we need to know what apps you are running. Then we can point you to a better CPU is there is one or better video card if thats what the apps need. So it would also help to know what video card you have. But i can't really think of anything more you can get. I doubt a quad core would be much of an upgrade for you unless the apps are multi threaded.

It sounds like quad core might be a good idea, but as mplichfamily said, it would help to know more.

you could look into oc'ing that e6850 to 3.6ghz+ first if you are ok with the idea of oc'ing

I dont run any games, so I dont care for a Video card upgrade. Just a better processor or ways to maximize what I already have.

Again, it depends on what you're doing. It may help to add more RAM, not just CPU speed.

What applications do you use?
