First time poster here; I have a couple of questions that I'm hoping you guys can help:
1. P4 2.8Ghz 2GB DDR Geforce 4200 ti 128MB AGP: wife plays Everquest 2 on this system; somewhat choppy at 1280x1024 (LCD native resolution). Is there any point in upgrading the video card? At what video performance point does the CPU become the bottleneck at the above resolution for DX9 applications?
2. P4 3.4Ghz 2GB DDR2 Intel 915G: my understanding from reading this forum is that the mid-high end PCI-E video cards are in pretty short supply. What can I buy TODAY for under $300 aside from 6600GT 128MB and X700 Pro 256MB? I figure if I have to wait a month or more to find PCI-E 6800NU and better, ATI X800 XL would be available at the same price point.
