I use win2k...i know that usually it is a good idea to do a clean install of the OS if you upgrade to a different motherboard and such...but if I keep the same motherboard, but upgrade to a faster processor...is it necessary to do a clean install for that, or will it not matter and still be stable? thanks..t

You don't have to do anything but put it in. I know I've been able to switch mobos with anything pre-XP without having to re-install. That damn activation crap. You might want to update your BIOS unless it is already.

You normally don't need an OS reinstall if you just change the processor.

Usually it's the motherboard that requires an OS reinstall.
