Upgrade Question

I was thinking about an 8600gt/gts, I am coming from a 7800gt and figure now is good time to upgrade. Worth it going from the 78 to the 86 or should I wait a little longer and get an 8800. I guess if I do save it might be in time for some of the newer cards to come out but thought I would see what the peanut gallery thinks first.

Bleh, 7800 to 8600 is no gain, and a loss for DX9 gaming. Wait for the DX10 refresh, then get a 8800GT/GS or whatever $200-$250ish card they end up releasing. Should see GTS/GTX speeds at a big savings over the current wallet-busters.

You will get a slight performance boost, but not by much. On the bright side, it will allow you to play all those DX10 games. Here's a quick list of the current games that will benefit from upgrading to a DX10 card:
1)
2)
3)
4)
5)

Seriously, if it's for an HTPC, go for it. If not, stick with your 7800GT for now.
